Difficulty moving

SIR – Our experience of moving to a smaller property (Letters, February 12) has not been made difficult by the necessity of decluttering – we have found it quite cathartic – or by the stamp duty, but rather by the long and complex process of conveyancing.

It has been a nightmare. Other people have paled as they recount their own horror stories. Surely a better way could be found to rationalise the process and stop costs escalating as the weeks go by. Brian and Charlotte Paton
