Online appeals over tax bills more successful

-

Almost a third of tax appeals are now being submitted online, the Ministry of Justice has said.

People seeking to challenge their tax bill no longer have to fill in and post forms and officials say this has drastically reduced the number of appeals rejected because they were incomplete or inaccurate.

More than 2,000 taxpayers have used online appeals since they went live in June.

Online appeals are submitted to the tax tribunal services for consideration by a judge. The MOJ said the simplified system was time-saving and cut waste.
