‘Healthy’ options at Mcdonald’s? Make mine a Big Mac

-

Mcdonald’s has made the controversial decision to take cheeseburgers off its Happy Meal menu, replacing them with healthier options. This comes in the same week that the restaurant chain has started selling flat whites, presumably in the hope of turning it into some sort of trendy, healthy food destination. What next? A juice bar, avocado on sourdough and Mcsushi?

Doesn’t Mcdonald’s understand that nobody goes there for nutritious food – just disgustingly delicious food? If I am walking into a Golden Arches, it’s because I want to fall headfirst into a pile of salt and fat – not for a lettuce leaf.

Don’t you see, Mcdonald’s? In an age of quinoa and kale, we need your cheese and burgers more than ever.
