Trump Jr on visit to India to sell luxury flats

- By Saptarshi Ray in New Delhi

DONALD TRUMP JR arrives in India today as part of a week-long trip to promote luxury Trump Towers properties in the country.

The son of the US president and head of the family business, will be pushing for sales of opulent flats in four cities that could bring in business worth more than $1billion. The family brand operates under licence to an Indian property firm and there are Trump Towers in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Calcutta. Mr Trump Jr is scheduled to speak at the Global Business Summit in New Delhi but denies there is any political dimension to his trip.

M3m, the developer which has Trump Towers brand rights in India, offered the first 100 buyers of the multimillion-dollar flats flights to the US to meet Mr Trump Jr.

Critics said the implication was that there was an outside chance rich buyers might get to see the White House or even meet the president himself.
