ENDOMETRIOSIS A COSTLY CONDITION

-

One in 10 women of reproductive age in the UK suffer from endometriosis.

The prevalence of endometriosis in women with infertility is thought to be between 30 to 50 per cent.

Endometriosis is the second most common gynaecological condition in the UK.

It affects 1.5million women, around the same number who are affected by diabetes.

Endometriosis costs the economy £8.2 billion a year in treatment, loss of work and healthcare costs.

The cause of endometriosis is unknown and there is no definite cure.
