‘Beatles’ will be tried but Rudd can’t say where

-

Amber Rudd, the Home Secretary, has left the door open to bringing two jihadists known as “The Beatles” back to Britain to face justice.

She said she was “absolutely committed” to ensuring that Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh are tried in court after their capture in Syria last month but when asked by reporters where the two should be tried, she declined to comment.

During a visit to the Middle East, Ms Rudd said: “The important thing is they will face trial. I can’t be drawn at the moment on where that will be.”
