Girl, 7, ‘poisoned’ after playing with putty

-

 A seven-year-old girl is thought to have been poisoned after playing with a “magnetic putty” toy bought online from Amazon.

Neve Kelly’s mother Frances, said her daughter had 10 times the safe level of arsenic in her urine after playing with the toy for a week. Ms Kelly, 37, from Wishaw, Lanarkshire, took Neve to the doctor after she complained of stomach pains. Ms Kelly and her partner Mark have spoken out on social media to warn other parents and they are considering legal action.

The toy was removed from sale by Amazon last month after it learnt it contained unsafe levels of arsenic. At the time, it said: “Customer safety is our priority”, but declined to comment on this case.
