The Brexit cliff edge

-

SIR – Business leaders and Remainers are intent on securing as long a transition period after 2019 as possible in order to “avoid a cliff-edge Brexit”.

Our useless politicians have already wasted a year of the statutory negotiation period. They can be relied on to waste the remaining year, plus whatever transition period is agreed. Then we will have the cliff edge. Let’s just have it in March 2019. Ian Brown

SIR – I am coming round to the view that there should be a second EU referendum – but not on the original proposition, which has been decided.

The further vote would be on whatever deal is eventually agreed for us. The signs are not healthy and the outcome is too important to leave to MPS, especially in the face of wellfunded manipulation from arch Remainers such as George Soros. Graham Mckenzie
