3 Shiny happy people

There is an abundance of sparkle on offer for next season. At Erdem and Christopher Kane, skirts heavy with paillettes had extra lattices of crystals or pearls thrown over the top, just for good measure (and then dressed down with heavy knitwear).

But when everyone’s doing souped-up sequins, those who would ordinarily specialise in them are forced to look elsewhere. Michael Halpern, who has built his two-yearold brand on disco jumpsuits, saw fit to tip tinsel as the new evening wear fabric of choice. Ashish, another whose clothes tend to clatter as they walk by, also used tinsel, this time in soft, ombré knitwear that would be as comfortable to bed down in at the end of the party as it would be to dance in. For those not keen on the full effect, look to Simone Rocha who delivered it in more subtle stripes across dresses, so thankfully, there’s no need to wait until party season. Caroline Leaper
