British tourist dies after hitting tree while skiing

A British skier died after hitting a tree while on holiday in a Swiss ski resort.

The 21-year-old was skiing in Les Diablerets when he struck the tree on the edge of a piste. The ski station’s emergency services, mountain police and a helicopter were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no one else involved in the accident and it happened in good weather at 3.30pm.

The man was on holiday with his family.
