Sublime symphony

SIR – Many thanks to Simon Heffer for his splendid article (Review, February 17) on George Lloyd’s Fourth Symphony. It is not the most profound of works but, containing as it does one great theme after another, it cannot fail to be sublimely uplifting.

It is good to know that Radio 3 is in retreat when it comes to leaving Lloyd’s music unplayed. John Towle
