Three men held over Leicester blast that killed five
THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following an explosion in Leicester.
Police said the men, all in their 30s, were arrested by officers yesterday evening, and were being questioned by detectives. Those in custody are from the East Midlands, East Anglia, and the North West, according to Leicestershire Police.
The arrests are in connection with the investigation into a huge blast in Hinckley Road which demolished a supermarket and the two-storey flat above, killing five people on Sunday night.
Still officially listed among the missing are Mary Ragoobeer, 46, and Shane, 18, and Sean, 17, her sons.
Also unaccounted for are Leah Beth Reek, 18, Shane’s girlfriend, and Viktorija Ijevleva, 22, a shop worker.
In a statement following the arrests, Leicester Police said: “No further details will be released about these individuals at this stage.”
