Home Office allows cannabis for boy, 6

-

♦ The Home Office has granted permission for a six-year-old boy with epilepsy to take a cannabis-based medication to help treat his condition. Alfie Dingley has multiple seizures a day which were reduced by the drug which was prescribed to him in the Netherlands. Last night the Home Office, which does not recognise the benefits of cannabis as a medicinal treatment, gave in to his family’s pleas and has agreed to a three-month trial. His mother, Hannah Deacon, told ITV News: “We know this is a sincere offer and they want to help us. [Alfie] deserves to be safe and well.”
