Serial rapist Grandfather admits ‘40’ French attacks

A French grandfather believed to be one of the country’s most prolific serial rapists has been charged after confessing to raping and sexually assaulting “around 40” women in the Nineties.

The married 57-year-old was arrested on Monday after police linked him with the rape of a woman last week in Belgium.

DNA evidence matched that found on several rape victims.

Police said he confessed under police questioning to attacks on a number of women dating back decades.
