Trump’s steel tariff threatens trade war
Donald Trump has said he will impose a 25 per cent tariff on steel imports in a move that could cripple Britain’s steel industry and trigger a trade war. The US president appeared to have brushed off fierce lobbying from the British Government as he said the announcement would be made next week. Mr Trump said he would also bring in an aluminium tariff of 10 per cent. Both moves reportedly split his cabinet and advisers. Business, page 1
