Things are not looking rosy for Hollywood A-lister Ewan Mcgregor, 46, who has been dumped by the lover he left his wife for – and is soon to be divorced by her. It’s rare to see the wheel of fortune turn quite so swiftly, but how reassuring to learn that Mcgregor’s wife of 22 years, 51-year-old Eve Mavrakis, is pressing ahead with the decree absolute.

Last year, the production designer and mother of his four daughters made no secret of her shock and sadness when Mcgregor took up with actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33, whom he had met on the set of US series Fargo.

So this week, a day after reports that Mcgregor had been dumped by his lover, Mavrakis confirmed her divorce proceedings are going ahead and that the pair are no longer speaking. Marital trust, once lost, takes a lot of effort to rebuild – even for a Jedi.
