Taking snow control

-

Nay-sayers and moaners have claimed that the snow has made all the running in Britain’s negotiations for a new weather settlement for all the people of the UK. Here are five tests for future snow events that everyone can sign up to:

That any snow event must respect the seasonal will of the people. No more snow in summer.

That any snow event will block only one carriageway of motorways at a time.

That any snow event will be covered on television by unfortunate reporters out of doors.

That any snow event will be consistent with the temperate country we want to be, and will melt away within hours.

That any snow event must bring the country together. This means talking to strangers in the snow and not talking to them when it thaws.
