Grandson charged with charity worker’s murder
Detectives investigating the killing of a charity worker stabbed to death in her own home have charged her grandson with her murder.
Greg Irvin, 25, from Walsall Wood, West Midlands, was arrested the day after 74-year-old Anne James’s body was discovered.
It is alleged that he attacked his grandmother with a knife at her home in the Highgate area of Walsall on Feb 28 and he is set to appear at Wolverhampton magistrates’ court today.
Det Insp Harry Harrison said: “This is a murder that has really shocked the local community.”
