Patrick Stewart brands car museum plan ‘elitist’
Sir Patrick Stewart has objected to a US millionaire’s “elitist” plans to build a classic car museum near his home.
The Star Trek actor is among 250 people who have objected to the plans at Enstone Airfield, west Oxfordshire.
Peter Mullin, a philanthropist and classic car collector, wants to transform part of the Cotswolds into one of the world’s finest car museums along with 28 luxury holiday homes at a cost of £150million and create 100 jobs.
Sir Patrick said: “I emphasise the disruption, annoyance and inappropriateness of the traffic movements involved. There is also too much of a commercial and elitist aspect to this.”
