Poor don’t follow middle class logic, says Jamie
Poorer families are struggling to adhere to guidance on how to tackle obesity and should be taught in a different way to the middle classes, Jamie Oliver has reportedly suggested.
The celebrity chef, speaking at the launch of a report on how to tackle the problem by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, said poorer parents don’t follow “middle-class logic” and, according to The Times, he told an audience: “What you see is parents who aren’t even thinking about five fruit and veg a day, they’re thinking about enough food for the day.”
