Beatles-signed visitors’ page fetches £13,000

-

A page of a hotel visitors’ book signed by all four Beatles has sold for £13,000 – more than double its estimate.

The Fab Four signed the book on June 4 1963 following a stay at the Arden & Cobden Hotel in Birmingham.

They were in the midst of a British tour they were co-headlining with Roy Orbison and with fellow Liverpool band Gerry and the Pacemakers – also staying at the hotel – on the bill too.

Orbison was initially the sole headliner but the release of The Beatles first album Please, Please Me three months earlier had taken the charts by storm.
