Five days that could clarify Brexit

Today: Brexit negotiations begin in Brussels on technical details. In Northern Ireland, Michel Barnier will meet with Michelle O’neill, Sinn Fein’s new leader. Tomorrow: Guy Verhofstadt, the European Parliament’s chief Brexit coordinator, will meet Theresa May in London. Philip Hammond will address financiers in a speech in which he will discuss the future of the City of London. Wednesday: The Chancellor will give his own address to the nation. Thursday: Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, will arrive in Dublin for talks with Leo Varadkar. the Irish Taoiseach. Friday: The EU’S working group on Article 50 will discuss the Withdrawal Agreement details.
