Time running out to find Thai backpacker’s killer

The belongings of a backpacker murdered in Thailand 18 years ago must be returned so British police can hunt for clues, an MP has said.

Kirsty Jones was 23 and just three months into a two-year world trip when she was raped and strangled in her hostel in Chiang Mai in 2000.

Chris Davies, the family’s MP, wants her belongings returned so police here can carry out tests before the Thai police case is closed after 20 years.
