What have I done?

SIR – Alison Steadman (Telegraph Magazine, February 24) tells of her new grandson’s early first word.

My own son’s debut, rather later at about nine months, was equally memorable. As his mother was yet again about to change his nappy, he said very clearly, and slightly apologetically: “Oh my God.”
