Teenager jailed for life for killing girl, 16

♦ A murderer lured a teenage friend to her death after warning police six months earlier that he was going to kill.

Shea Heeley, 19, stabbed 16-year-old Leonne Weeks 28 times in Rotherham on Jan 15 last year. Months earlier, he dialled 999 to tell the operator he would kill the next person he met.

He was referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and was assessed by psychiatrists. Their report, which concluded he had no mental illness, was still being typed up when he killed the girl, whom he had befriended and lured to a secluded spot. After killing her, he dumped her body under an old sofa. Jailing him for life for murder at Sheffield Crown Court, Judge Paul Watson told Heeley he may never be released.
