The second series of this black comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker has found a lighter tone than the first, no doubt down to new showrunner Jenny Bicks, a Sex and the City veteran. Parker navigates between comedy and pathos skilfully as the newly divorced Frances, who tonight endures a betrayal by her best friend Dallas (Talia Balsam) and an embarrassing set-up by mate Diane (Molly Shannon).
