No more rip-off ticket tariffs

-

Concert-goers buying second-hand tickets online will no longer be “ripped off ” with hidden fees at the checkout under a major crackdown by advertising watchdogs.

The Advertising Standards Authority has banned secondary ticketing websites from adding booking fees, delivery charges and other costs to the price of tickets at the last minute. The reforms will have a significant impact on the way leading sites including Stubhub UK, viagogo AG, Seatwave Ltd, and Get Me In! sell tickets.

Guy Parker, the ASA chief executive, said: “The message... is simple and it’s clear: the price you see at the start should be the price you pay at the end.”
