Safety first Litvinenko widow criticises Britain

Marina Litvinenko, the widow of the former KGB officer who died from radiation poisoning in London in 2006, said Britain must take the safety of Russian refugees more seriously.

She told the BBC: “We need to be sure people receiving political asylum here are safe.”

During the Cold War defectors got new identities, but Sergei Skripal lived openly in Salisbury after being released in a 2010 spy swap.
