Corbyn was a member of anti-semitic Facebook group
Jeremy Corbyn was a member of a private Facebook group in which anti-semitic messages and Holocaust denial theories were published, it emerged yesterday.
Labour was last night investigating up to half a dozen party members for their involvement in Palestine Live. Clive Lewis and Chris Williamson, both Corbyn allies, were identified as members.
Messages on the group include conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family, Israeli involvement in the 9/11 attacks claims, and links to neo-nazi material.
A spokesman for Mr Corbyn confirmed he had been a member but did not have any knowledge of anti-semitic posts. The spokesman added that Mr Corbyn and Labour were “implacably opposed” to anti-semitism and would take action to “stamp it out”.
Mr Williamson and Mr Lewis said they were unaware of anti-semitic or racist content and had now removed themselves from it.
