Man about the house

SIR – I was quite inspired by the tips on “How to get your house twice as clean in half the time” (Features, March 7), particularly the suggestion of placing newspapers on the top of cupboards.

My husband, however, doesn’t quite share my enthusiasm, as he grumpily balances on a kitchen chair while washing the shelf at the top of the hob, with me standing by to hand him old copies of the Telegraph. Denise Taylor
