Charities thank you for ‘phenomenal’ generosity

-

More than £560,000 raised during The Telegraph’s Christmas Appeal was handed to three charities yesterday.

The funds, split between Canine Partners, Missing People and Fareshare, were donated by readers during the pre-christmas phone-in as well as via postal and online donations.

The charities accepted the funds from editor emeritus Ian Macgregor in an event at the Telegraph’s offices in Victoria, London.

Lindsay Boswell, Fareshare chief executive, thanked readers for their “phenomenal” generosity and said the money would fund 600,000 meals. Tabby Hart, 23, added that her service dog from Canine Partners had changed her life.
