Harley Street doctor struck off for dope boast
A Harley Street doctor who boasted of getting banned substances for Premier League footballers has been struck off after fleeing the UK.
Mark Bonar, 40, offered banned substances to one runner, claiming he had previously helped other top sports stars including footballers, boxers and tennis players with other performance enhancing drugs.
The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service yesterday ordered that Bonar be erased from the medical register.
In a statement, Bonar, who now lives abroad, said: “It was no more than business banter and there was no substance or truth behind the grandiose statements.”
