Royal role model
Meghan Markle made friends with schoolgirls and pensioners yesterday as she cheered on a speech about how female role models should not be judged on being “pretty, thin and quiet”. Ms Markle and Prince Harry celebrated International Women’s Day at an event to encourage girls into careers in science and business, praising their confidence, ambition and “brains the size of a planet” during a visit to Birmingham. Ms Markle smiled as Tasneem Chihani, 14, said: “The one who dares to fly in the face of all these stereotypes is the best kind of role model a young female can have.”
