Perks of free schools
SIR – Fraser Nelson (Comment, March 2) hits the nail on the head about the success of free schools.
There are two other advantages which he does not mention. When a new school is set up, the parents feel real ownership and the school feels like a family, rather than an institution to which you send your child. Also, the school starts off in a position to employ keen staff who are not cynical or jaded. Juliet Evans
