Two die on road after leaving car breakdown

Two men died after they got out of their car when it broke down on a “live lane” of the A2.

Police said the men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were killed in a crash near Bluewater shopping centre in Kent on Saturday night.

A black Volkswagen Polo collided with a white Volkswagen Golf, which was stationary in a normal traffic lane, police believe.

The collision happened on the London-bound carriageway, close to the junction for Bean, on Saturday. Police were called just before 11pm.

The men, from the Gravesend area, were declared dead at the scene.
