Beatle’s widow gives nod to memorial garden
The widow of George Harrison, the Beatles’ guitarist, has given her permission for a memorial garden to built in her late husband’s honour.
The idea was raised almost 20 years ago, but Olivia Harrison worried that it would bring hordes of fans.
Yesterday, after a letter from Kellie Hinton, the mayor of Henley-onthames, she finally agreed.
Although no location or money has yet been put forward, the garden is expected to be a community project with the assistance of Harrison’s Material World Foundation.
