Horse walks into nightclub... and leaves the owner with long face
A NIGHTCLUB in Miami has had its licence revoked after a woman wearing a bikini rode a white horse on to the dance floor.
The impact was rather different from the famous moment in Seventies pop culture when Bianca Jagger was pictured astride a white horse in New York’s Studio 54 nightclub.
This time horrified witnesses screamed as the animal appeared to stumble and buck, throwing off the rider.
A handler attempted to help the distressed animal back to its feet.
A video of the incident was shared widely provoking immediate condemnation and demands that the Mokai Lounge be closed.
The episode is now being investigated for possible animal cruelty and endangering public safety. Miami Beach Police said it had traced the horse.
“The horse has been inspected and deemed to be healthy and safe,” the police said in a tweet. City authorities immediately revoked the club’s licence after the incident, which happened in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Dan Gelber, mayor of Miami Beach, has said the animal-related stunt is inhumane.
He said: “What kind of idiot would do something like this to an animal, what kind of idiot would endanger people’s lives at that club?”
