The Colditz Story (1954,b/w)

 While not in the same league as Stalag 17, nor as action-packed as The Great Escape, this British POW movie is a fun romp that plays up the British sense of humour. John Mills stars as British army officer Pat Reid (whose book the film is based on) who’s put in charge of coordinating escape bids from the allegedly escape-proof Colditz Castle. But the attempts are intercepted by German guards, leading to suspicion of a traitor.
