Schoolboys tied up black pupil for ‘slave auction’
Schoolboys tied a black pupil to a lamppost and whipped him in a “mock slave auction”, it has emerged.
Police are investigating the lunchtime incident in the grounds of a secondary school in Bath when at least seven white teenagers tied up a fellow pupil and shouted racist remarks, it was alleged. The school said it had “thoroughly investigated” the incident and three pupils were expelled by the head. However, the decision was overturned by the school governors, who allowed the boys to return.
Inquiries continue and the school is assisting. By last night six boys had voluntarily attended a police station.
