Shark tooth stolen from heritage site

-

A prehistoric tooth belonging to an extinct giant shark has been stolen from a secret location in western Australia.

The three-inch fossilised Megalodon tooth, believed to be the largest sea creature in history, had not been fully excavated as researchers planned to protect it with a cage.

Its precise location in the Ningaloo Coast was known to very few people.
