Knitting as a village
SIR – The community spirit engendered by knitting (Letters, March 15) is so true. Last year local knitters and crocheters produced more than 5,000 poppies, which were hung from our church tower and over the churchyard walls.
People came from all over Suffolk to see them, during the days leading up to Remembrance Sunday.
The British Legion benefited from the generosity of the admirers, and the community had a happy feeling of achievement.
We are going to add to them this year and continue the pleasure it gave us all. Caroline Osborne
