Groping of presenter ‘a friendly slap on bottom’
THE man who groped Helen Skelton, the television presenter, during a live broadcast was a darts player who maintains it was “a friendly slap on the bottom”.
Ross Montgomery was identified after Skelton gave an interview to The Daily Telegraph in which she told of her shock over the incident.
It took place at the BDO World Darts Championship in 2015, when Skelton was working as a roving reporter for BT Sport. Footage from the event appears to show a grinning Montgomery reaching behind Skelton as she attempted to interview him.
Montgomery, from North Ayrshire in Scotland, told Mail Online: “She wasn’t groped. It was nothing more than a friendly slap on the bottom.”
