BBC’S ‘Soviet’ hat riles leader’s allies

JEREMY CORBYN’S allies have accused the BBC of “Photoshopping” the Labour leader’s hat to make him “look more Russian”. A discussion on Newsnight featured a red backdrop showing Mr Corbyn wearing a socalled “Lenin cap” and positioned next to the Kremlin.

Mr Corbyn has previously been pictured wearing the hat, but supporters claimed the BBC had “doctored” the image to make him look like a “Soviet stooge” after the Salisbury spy attack.

The BBC rejected the claims and said the image “was not altered”.
