As female genital mutilation is more widely known about, questions inevitably also turn to the more widespread practice of male circumcision. Mary-ann Ochota speaks to practitioners about why they believe it’s important for health, and hears from “intactivists” in America, where most boys are circumcised for nonreligious reasons.
