Trust men to cope with the children, says head
Women should stop patronising their husbands with to-do lists like “look after the children”, the head of a leading girls’ school has said.
Vicky Bingham, head of the £18,000-a-year South Hampstead High School in north London, said that too many women “infantilise” their husbands by not trusting them to cope. “Even if fathers are shouldering their fair share of chores, it seems that many women of my generation still carry the mental load, and believe that if they didn’t the household would fall apart,” she told the London Evening Standard. Mrs Bingham, who is married with a nine-year-old daughter, said women must learn to “let go”.
