Police aide accidentally prosecutes himself

A police worker has been ridiculed by colleagues online after he accidentally prosecuted himself for an untaxed car.

West Yorks’ roads policing unit mocked one of their own team who appears to have put his name on a form rather than that of the real offender. They also posted on Twitter a letter he subsequently received from the DVLA telling him he must pay £81 or be taken to court.

The unit has had a busy few weeks with two spells of extreme weather causing problems on the road across West Yorkshire. The unit has been charting motoring mishaps on the county’s frozen roads in light hearted fashion on its social media feeds.
