Colombia given aid by US to help migrants

The United States said yesterday it would provide $2.5million (£2.2m) for food and medicine to help Venezuelans fleeing their country into neighbouring Colombia.

It is the first funding by the US government’s main aid agency to help Venezuela’s neighbours deal with the influx of hundreds of thousands of desperate migrants trying to escape the worsening economic crisis in Venezuela.
