Students inspired by Breaking Bad sold drugs

A group of British students have been jailed for traffickin­g drugs via the online “dark web”. The gang, led by Basil Assaf, 26, imported, exported and supplied ecstasy, 2CB, LSD and ketamine.

Assaf and Elliott Hyams, 26, James Roden, 25, and Jaikishen Patel, 26, all from London, were part of the drugs scene at the University of Manchester. Inspired by Breaking Bad, the TV show, they moved drugs worth £812,000. Assaf, of Ealing, was jailed for 15 years and three months at Manchester Crown Court, Hyams for 11 years and three months, Roden for 12 years, and Patel for 11 years and two months.
