Fleeced for lamb

sir – The BBC’S Countryfile recently reported a decline in lamb consumption in Britain over the past 20 years.

Lamb is a great favourite in our family, and the only reason we do not buy it more frequently is the price. Therefore, sadly, when we do buy lamb, it is invariably from New Zealand. Margaret Tinsley
