Thieves mistake lethal drug for ketamine
♦ Thieves who stole what they thought was ketamine from the University of Cambridge actually took a lethal drug used to kill animals, police have warned.
Seven bottles of the euthanasia medicine were stolen from a vehicle at the University’s Department of Veterinary Medicine in Madingley Road, Cambridge, between 5pm on Wednesday and 10am on Thursday this week.
Cambridgeshire Police said the drugs could be on the streets and warned that there was a threat to human life if consumed. A spokesman said: “The medication they have taken is extremely dangerous.”
